Event information

Goonhilly Village Green will take place on Friday 25th & Saturday 26th September 2015. Friday 25th is a day for invited schoolchildren only. Saturday 26th is the main event, which is open to all. You can visit the site at any time, however the gated buildings in the National Nature Reserve will not be open outside of events.

How to get there
By road from Helston follow A3083 past RNAS Culdrose. Turn left at the roundabout onto the B3293 and follow the road to the Goonhilly Earth Station entrance. Follow signs to the Segway car park. The car park is not huge so please car share wherever possible. There is additional but limited parking at Natural England’s Goonhilly National Nature Reserve car park, about half a mile on from the Earth Station entrance heading towards St Keverne.
Bus number 36 leaves from Truro and Helston every 2 hours; alight at Goonhilly Earth Station but please check timetables carefully in case of alterations.

Safety advice
Please wear suitable clothing and footwear for an outdoor event. Tracks and paths can become very muddy and wet if there has been rain and can stay like this even after a dry spell! There are many plants on the Downs, some of which will be poisonous so please supervise children and vulnerable adults carefully. There may be adders around but unlikely given the lateness of the year. If you do see an adder, DO NOT touch it and please let others and an organiser know of where it was spotted so we can cordon off the area. There may be ponies on site – please do not feed them as this encourages them to pester people and is bad for their health.

Dogs
Well behaved dogs are permitted. Please clean up after your pet. Dogs must be kept on leads on Goonhilly Earth Station but can roam free elsewhere.

Rubbish
Litter bins will sited near the Village Green. Please remember that this is a protected habitat and dispose of rubbish responsibly. Thanks.

Accessibility
The Happidrome and Goonhilly Earth Station are accessible for buggies and wheelchairs. Access to the Village Green may be unsuitable dependent on ground condition. Please ask our volunteers for assistance.
