Goonhilly Village Green is looking for Event Assistants for The Gathering on 18th May!
The Gathering is a one day event taking place on across Goonhilly Downs and Goonhilly Earth Station, exploring many aspects that make the site so special from archaeology, technology, communication, environment,
agriculture and much much more. With 8 site specific contemporary art commissions, a programme of talks and film screenings, weird and wonderful workshops for all ages, food, drink and live performance. It’s an action packed day for all the family.
Event Assistants will work alongside volunteers and the Goonhilly Village Green team; assisting audience members to find and engage with events and projects across the site.
Event Assistants will take a proactive approach to gathering evaluation materials by approaching audience members for specific feedback; noting down informal conversations with audience members; and collecting statistical data. They may also be asked to assist commissioned artists with install/deinstall, steward artworks/events and facilitate the delivery
of preplanned drop in workshops.
There are 2 positions available, working between 9.00 – 17.30, Saturday 18th May. The roles are freelance and paid at a rate of £10/hr.
The successful candidates will:
- Have good knowledge of and enthusiasm for visual arts in Cornwall
- Be friendly, confident communicators with experience in public facing roles
- Be responsible individuals who are calm under pressure
- Be happy to pitch in and do what is needed to ensure the event is a
success - Make an effort to know as much as possible about the range of ideas,
events and artworks that make up Goonhilly Village Green
Event Assistants will be given an on site induction at 9am on Saturday 18th May and also have the opportunity to visit the site on Friday 17th May between 15.00 – 17.00 to walk the site the GVG team, meet the artists and ask any questions.
