The wonderful Mullion Handbell Ringers will be performing at 1pm on the Village Green.
The Mullion Handbell Ringers began in 2002 with 6 members and were originally known as the Clangers. The bells were an old and much used set and were far from complete. They had been given to Mullion Parish Church by a lady who had purchased them in memory of her late husband. After much fundraising, the bells were refurbished and had cases made to house them.In 2005 the lady who was their leader then retired and this is when they changed their name and format of how they play. They have been joined by several more members over the years and are now 15 in total. They have also added to the set of bells and now have 2 complete octaves which means that they are able to play a wider range of music. The Mullion Handbell Ringers practice on Tuesdays at 2.00pm in the church and have played in various venues. They always hold their version of 9 Lessons and Carols at Christmas in the Church.
